NO, MR. PRESIDENT:

THE TALE OF THE SATURDAY NIGHT MASSACRE

By Xander Davidson

October 10, 2017

As part of our Spring issue, The Clean Water Issue, Planet reporter Xander Davidson interviewed Bill Ruckelshaus, the first administrator of the EPA and an environmental legend in the Pacific Northwest. In this podcast, Ruckelshaus traces the events of the Saturday Night Massacre, the night former President Nixon fired justice department officials, including Ruckelshaus, in an attempt to cover up the Watergate investigation. Through this event in history, Ruckelshaus offers a view of how to weigh obedience to the president and maintaining one’s own sense of what is right.
